UCSF Campus HR Self Assessment

The first step is to complete your self-assessment at:  My Assessment.  (You can alternatively start with a short assessment at:  Short Assessment)

Talk with your supervisor about which would be most appropriate for you.

The full assessment contains a comprehensive collection of topics in every area of human resources.  The competencies are reflective of advanced knowledge and skill in each area.  Answer the questions as best you can, giving your self a high score if you have extensive skill and experience in a given area, and lower scores if you have less skill and experience.  For example, an analyst with extensive experience in labor relations might score high on competencies in the labor relations area, and might score lowest in another general category where they have no experience.  With no experience and skill for a given category, you should give yourself a score of “1”.  If you feel you are one of the best at displaying skills in a cateoryt for which you have a great deal of experience, give yourself a score of “5”.  In general, you will want to complete the questions in the following sections:

1.  Human resources principles and practices
2.  Customer relations
3.  Business Management
4.  Information Technology
5.  Leadership
6.  Teamwork

10.  External awareness
