Organizational Development Services

Transforming work life, one department at a time.

In October 1997, UCSF Human Resources, in conjunction with the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance, expanded Organizational Development (OD) consulting services and made them available on a low cost recharge basis, similar to the recharge for training courses.

Organizational Development Services can have a positive impact on factors that contribute to high performance: workplace climate, employee morale, skill alignment, professional development strategies, and effective use of technology.

OD professionals work with managers and their staffs in a variety of ways. They help identify, develop and implement needed change that will allow employees to adapt to a changing environment, resolve problems creatively and productively, and learn from their experiences. They assist managers in planning and implementing departmental restructuring, facilitate meetings, and design and facilitate retreats. They also assist with problem solving, strategic planning, teambuilding, conflict resolution, coaching, goal setting, and change management.

Development & Training manager, Don Diettinger assesses each request for services on a case-by-case basis, to determine the most appropriate resource (internal or external) and to give the client options.
