2009 Pulse Survey Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is this being called a “pulse survey”?
The purpose of this survey is to provide basic numeric feedback on selected employee opinion survey questions during years when no full scale survey is planned. There will be no elaborate evaluation or analysis of the results. Simple result values will be presented by organization.
- Will the survey involve employees beyond FAS?
The survey will only be distributed to FAS organizations/employees. Other UCSF organizations have declined to participate in this survey. The Medical Center will be conducting their pulse survey in the fall.
- When will this survey be launched (and when will it end)?
The current launch date is April 17th, with a planned 3 week survey window. This date was chosen to help balance the timing of surveys being sent to our employees.
- When will the results be shared?
Results will be available to leadership 30 days after the survey is closed. (June 17th on the current project schedule).
- How will the results be used?
The results will be used by each organization to monitor progress on each of the staff opinion survey questions tracked in their strategic and incentive plans.
- Will the survey be done all on-line or will paper surveys be available?
The survey will be done primarily on-line. Paper surveys will be provided to those who do not have convenient computer access.
- Is the survey confidential?
The survey responses are administered by Human Resources Development & Training, and are all anonymous. Survey settings guarantee that ip addresses or any other identifying information is not collected with the responses.
