ADVANTAGES OF ON-LINE REGISTRATION

* Preview the complete academic year course curriculum.
* Read course descriptions.
* See instantly which course sections have space available.
* Register in your preferred course section.
* Clarify your registration status immediately (go to "My Training Plan")
* Put yourself on the waiting list if the course is full.
* Get rapid e-mail confirmation of your registration status (in 48 hours)
* Notify your supervisor of your registration status automatically.
* Drop a course section if the need arises.
* To view or print your Student Transcript (go to "My Training Plan")

ELIGIBILITY

* UCSF employees are eligible to register for D&T courses.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

* COURSE: A Class or Workshop
Example:  OLPPS INQUIRY AND ENTRY UPDATE TRAINING
*

SECTION: One offering or occurrence of the course
Example: Section A
*

MEETING(S): Day(s) in each Section of Course
Example: Tu.Th, F, Jan. 13 -16, 8:30am-4:00pm (3 Meetings in Section A)

HOW TO REGISTER

First, gather the following required information:

* your nine-digit UCSF ID number (starts with 02 _ _ _ _ _ _ _)
* your Social Security number (last four digits only).
* your current and valid email address (work or home), example: ( )
* contact information for yourself and your supervisor (e-mail, fax, phone, campus box)
* your department’s Full Accounting Unit (Fund-5 digits /DPA-6 digits ), if recharge.
* your department Reference Number (if required by your department)

Then, register on-line at http://training.ucsf.edu.

PAYMENT (RECHARGE OR PERSONAL CHECK)

* Recharges require department’s Full Accounting Unit. Do not use Federal Funds or Federal Flow-through Funds for Development and Training Courses.
* Checks must be made payable to ‘U.C. Regents’ and dated the first day of the Course Section. Your registration is not guaranteed until your check is received by D&T.
* Supervisors are responsible for final payment decisions.
* Course payment cannot be split; you must provide one recharge number or one check.

NOTIFICATION OF REGISTRATION

* You will be notified in 48 hours by e-mail notification of your registration status, and a copy of the same notification will be sent to your supervisor.
* If you do not receive a registration status e-mail notice in 2-3 days please call 476-4032.
* Do not attend the Course Section without confirmation of enrollment. Walk-ins are not permitted.

WAITING LIST

* Wait List is valid for current Course Section date only.
* Wait-listed applicants are not automatically enrolled in next Course Section date. You must re-apply for next Course Section.
* You cannot be on the Wait List for one Section of a Course, and simultaneously enrolled in the next Section. You must drop the earlier Section before you enroll in the later section.

CANCELLATION / DROP / NO-SHOW

* If you cannot attend, immediately go back to the Online Enrollment System at http://training.ucsf.edu , and click on ‘My Training Plan’. Look up the course title and click on "Drop," and follow the instructions.
* You must drop out seven days prior to Course Section date; otherwise, payment will not be refunded.
* Late-Drop status is when you dropped or cancel;ed your registration less than seven days prior to the course section date. Late-drop participant will be charged.
* No-Show participant will be charged.
* If Development and Training cancels a Course Section, your check will be returned or your department will not be recharged.
* It is D&T-s policy to charge participants the full classroom fee if cancellation is not received seven days before the class. This is necessary to cover unrecoverable costs. Participants may find alternates to attend in their place, or may request a waiver for the following:
1. D&T error, including instructor no-show
2. Death in the Family
3. Illness
4. Office Emergency
5. Jury Duty

Every effort will be made to re-enroll those receiving a waiver in the next available class at no extra charge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT REGISTRATION (AND ANSWERS)

What if I don’t have Internet access?

You can enroll from any computer with Internet access; e.g., a co-worker’s, your supervisor’s, the UCSF Library’s.

What if I don’t know how to use the Internet?

Ask a more experienced co-worker or your supervisor to help you.

What if I can’t remember if I registered?

Re-read the e-mail you received when you register. Or go to the Online Enrollment System and click on "My Training Plan" to see your past and present registration information.

What if I still have questions after I have done all the above?

Call the main Development and Training number 476-4032.
