Recruitment Resources on the Internet

Advertising Positions on Internet Job Web Sites

The Client Services Center is pleased to provide these advertising resources for placing ads while recruiting for open job positions. In addition to advertising open positions on the UCSF Human Resources Web Site, departments may advertise openings through their Client Services Representative or directly on various other jobs Web Sites. While some of these Web Sites will post an advertisement free of charge, most will charge a fee. The staff of the Client Services Center has compiled a list of job Web Sites that we hope will be a useful resource. Some are high-traffic Web Sites, which attract a wide variety of prospective applicants; some are smaller, niche Web Sites which target a particular population of job seekers. The chart below indicates the name of the Web Site, the web address (which is a link, just click on it and you will go directly to the Web Site), and the prices quoted as of June 2003. Each price is the base price quoted per individual job posting to all advertisers and subject to change without notice on our Web Site.Contact your Client Services Representative for free and discounted advertising rates (see below, "Free & Discounted Sites") only available through Human Resources at 415-476-3905.

The Client Services Center staff is always available to assist your department in developing recruitment strategies. Our knowledgeable staff can assist you in finding the resources you need for a successful recruitment, including drafting, coordinating and placing your ad.Feel free to contact your Client Services Representative to assist you in planning your advertising strategy.

When composing an advertisement for an Internet Web Site, we encourage departments to utilize the description and requirements already posted for the position on the UCSF Human Resources Web Site. However, departments are welcome to make additions to the position description to further elaborate for the audience, since most Web Sites allow advertisers a generous amount of space for a fixed price.

All Internet advertisements must communicate the same message regarding our application process and the UCSF commitment to diversity. The last section of all advertisements should contain the following language:

"In order to be considered for open positions at UCSF, you will need to submit your resume through our online application process.Once you complete the online application process, you will receive an email confirming that your submission has been received.Submitting your resume to UCSF opens the door to many immediate and ongoing job opportunities. Your resume will remain active in our applicant database and you will be able to update it as needed.
