Free Seasonal Flu Shots for all Personnel with a UCSF ID
UCSF Occupational Health Services (OHS) is providing free seasonal flu shots to all personnel with a UCSF ID. Outreach clinics will begin Monday, October 12 through Friday, October 28. View the detailed schedule.
UCSF is coordinating with San Francisco Department of Public Health to provide H1N1 vaccination to the UCSF community. Vaccine supplies are currently anticipated to become available in early November, and more information will be announced as it becomes available through http://www.occupationalhealthprogram.ucsf.edu/ohpFluInfo.asp, UCSF Today, and the Health and Safety Alert listserv.
Redesigned New Employee Orientation Now Just 4 Hours
UCSF’s New Employee Orientation (NEO) has recently been redesigned to provide new employees with more focused content, shorter session time and increased flexibility in enrollment. Participants will walk away from this interactive and informative session with knowledge, tools, and resources to onboard effectively and quickly. Our specific objectives are to create a foundation for success, identify resources to navigate through a new organization, and provide answers to their most pressing queries.
Beginning in October 2009, we will be offering NEO sessions twice a month, approximately the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month (with some variation due to holidays and room availability). The session will be four hours in length, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m. Both sessions will include the Benefits orientation so the stand-alone, Monday morning Benefits orientation will no longer be offered.

UC Retirement Readiness Education Programs
The new schedule for the fourth quarter of Retirement Readiness Workshops—October through December—is now being drafted. We expect that it will be posted during the next several weeks, early October. Stay tuned to our Retirement Readiness listings—click here.
