Save the Date for a UCSF Post Employment Benefits Information Session
Members from the UC Post Employment Benefits (PEB) Task Force will be on our campus to facilitate an ‘Information Session’ on the proposed changes to the UC pension and health benefits programs. The session will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and/or make comments on the proposed changes.
- Oct 22nd 8:00 am, Mission Bay, TBD
- Oct 25th 2:00 pm, Parnassus, Cole Hall
You may know that some of the recommendations have already been finalized such as the increase in employee and employee contributions to UCOP for the next two years. The Regents are expected to make final decisions on a majority of the outstanding issues as early as December 2010. To learn more about the proposed changes click here: Future of UC Retirement Benefits.
Revisions to Voluntary Catastrophic Leave Sharing Program
In accordance with the University’s Voluntary Catastrophic Leave Sharing Program, an employee may voluntarily donate a portion of his/her vacation leave to be used by other University employees (who have exhausted all of their own paid leave benefits) to address circumstances for one’s own catastrophic injury or illness or to care for a catastrophically ill or injured family or household member. The University’s Voluntary Catastrophic Leave Sharing Program for campus employees has been revised to reflect changes in system-wide policy. In addition to the circumstances described above, an eligible employee is now permitted to receive vacations donations for catastrophic events defined as the death of a family or household member or a catastrophic casualty loss suffered due to a terrorist attack, fire or natural disaster.
Program details can be found online.
Please direct any questions to your assigned Labor and Employee Relations Analyst.
