Staff and Academic Reduction in Time (START)
As a reminder, the Staff and Academic Reduction in Time (START) Program concludes on December 31, 2010. Subsequent to that date, all employees on START are expected to return to their pre-START appointment percentage. Human Resources Administrators should ensure that START distribution lines have an end date of no later than December 31.
Questions related to ending a distribution line may be directed to Payroll at PayrollProcessing@ucsf.edu

At Your Service Online (AYSO)
When is the last time you logged into AYSO? Here you can:
- Take an Open Enrollment ‘Action’ beginning October 25th 8:00am – Nov 23rd 5:00pm
- View your earnings statement
- View your health plan enrollments
- View your UCRP Service Credit and run a retirement estimate
- Change your tax withholdings
- Update your beneficiaries and more
The ‘Always at Your Service’ guide provides details on all the actions you can take here and outlines directions on how to ‘reset your password’ or to ‘register’ for the first time.
If you have not logged recently, be sure to ‘test this site’ to get a jump start on open enrollment!
Recharge Basics
Are you responsible for preparing and managing recharge activities for your department? Would you like to become more familiar with our campus recharge systems?
There is still time to enroll in this educational one-day session on Recharge Basics on October 19, 2010 from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our Laurel Heights location, Regent’s Conference Room, Sublevel 1. The following topics will be covered in this informative session:
- Defining recharge activities
- Underlying federal costing policies
- University & campus policies governing management of recharge activities
- Key recharge concepts
- Annual campus review & approval process
- Preparation of a recharge activity proposal
- Management responsibilities from initiation to closure of recharge activities
To enroll: Log in to the UC Learning Center with your 9-digit UCSF employee ID. Search for this class title, click “register” to make your selection, and then click “submit” to register.
