Changes to Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
The Open Enrollment period is the time to enroll or re-enroll in an FSA. If you expect to have $180 (or more) of out-of pocket expenses, consider enrolling. Read more about the advantages of a Health FSA or DepCare FSA and review examples. Calculate your savings and increased take home pay with the Health Calculator and the DepCare Calculator. View the list of reimbursable, over-the counter drugs and medical supplies, which do not require a prescription from a provider.
The names of the FSA plans are changing to “Health FSA” and “Dependent Care (DepCare) FSA.” For those currently enrolled in an FSA, UC has chosen a new FSA plan administrator, CONEXIS, which will result in improved services to you.
Spending FSA Dollars on eligible Healthcare Expenses is easy with the CONEXIS Benefit card (the Benefit card previously issued by SHPS will not be valid after December 31, 2008). Be sure to always save your receipts in the event of future requests by the FSA vendor or the IRS to verify that the purchase is valid.
To learn more, visit CONEXIS’ pre-enrollment website, read the FAQs or speak to a CONEXIS representative at UC’s Open Enrollment Support line at 1-800-482-4120 (M-F) between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
We’re Listening: FAS CARE Customer Service Survey
All faculty, staff, and students recently received an email invitation from Interim Vice-Chancellor Randy Lopez to participate in the 2008 FAS CARE Customer Service Survey. You have until December 5, 2008 to complete the survey. Many of the questions have been revised this year to focus more on unit-specific programs and services, and two questions were added pertaining to the FAS strategic priority of responsible stewardship of UCSF resources.
In addition to providing input on services you receive from Human Resources, you will also have an opportunity to comment on other FAS services, such as accounting, procurement, administrative information systems, transportation, police, capital programs, and facilities management, to name a few. Your feedback is extremely important as it helps identify areas for improvement and allows us to make changes to better meet your needs.
The survey should take about 15-20 minutes to complete. If you have any questions, have trouble accessing the survey, or wish to receive a survey invitation, please email for assistance.
UCSF Launches New Workers’ Compensation Payroll Website
Disability Management Services (DMS) is aware of the challenges faced by departmental payroll processors when completing workers’ compensation payroll procedures. Based on this, as well as the feedback we received regarding the complexity of the website resources, we have revamped the Worker’s Compensation Payroll website to be more easily accessible and user friendly.
Processes are laid out in a step-wise fashion; supplementary information has been added to facilitate completion of the AP and LX forms; and a secondary Leave Bank Calculator that calculates leave usage, accruals, eligibility for ESL, and UC payment owed was developed. Visit the Workers’ Compensation Payroll website today.
