- All changes made during Open Enrollment will take effect January 1, 2011 – check your January pay statement to verify your changes.
- Enroll eligible family members. Dependents up to age 26 may be enrolled in your health coverage. You must add them to your coverage during Open Enrollment.
- Enroll in the ARAG Legal Plan – not open every year for enrollment.
- Current Health Net members should review the Health Net Blue & Gold HMO plan as an option for 2011. The benefits of the plan are exactly the same as the current Health Net benefits and many employees can switch to this plan without disruption (approximately 81% at UCSF). If employees and their family members are enrolled with a provider/medical group which is part of the Blue & Gold network, you can retain the same benefits and providers at a lower cost by switching to Health Net Blue & Gold.
- Employees currently with a non-participating medical group can enroll in the Health Net Blue & Gold plan by choosing a new provider/medical group. All providers with Hill Physicians San Francisco (UCSF Medical Center) and Brown & Toland are part of the new Health Net Blue and Gold network.
If you are currently enrolled in Health Net HMO and you take no action, your current enrollment in Health Net will continue for 2011 at the higher premium, even if your providers participate in the Health Net Blue & Gold.
- You must re-enroll in the Health or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account if you wish to participate in 2011. Also, keep in mind that over-the-counter medications will not be eligible expenses in 2011 unless you have a prescription from your provider.
