Mandatory Employment Notices and Posters

Federal and State Labor Law regulations require employers to post notice of labor laws in appropriate locations, with general access for employees and/or applicants for employment. The following website includes a revised list of mandatory Federal and State labor laws that must be posted where employees can view them in the normal course of business.  Please ensure that these notices are posted in areas used by employees, such as lobby areas, break rooms and bulletin boards designated for this purpose. Failure to post this information may result in Federal or State penalties for non-compliance.

For additional information, please contact your assigned Labor and Employee Relations Analyst.

Are you ready for retirement?  Are your ducks all in a row? Start to plan now-it’s never too early.

Please pass this on to your colleagues, circulate invitations, post the actual schedules, or otherwise re-broadcast these weekly reminders about our valuable (FREE) education programs for faculty and staff.  Bring your lunch; your questions; your spouse/partner. . .

Usually there can be at least one (or more) workshop(s) per week scheduled at various UCSF locations around town. For more details and listings for upcoming scheduled presentations, please refer to our Workshops and Presentations Schedules menus found at our local UCSF HR/Benefits website.

New Office Ergonomics Program

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety is proud to present its new Office Ergonomics Program.  This program will be helpful to you in providing ergonomics information and recommendations to all your employees who use computers in both administrative and laboratory environments.

An Office Ergonomics Training and Self Evaluation is available on Research Online.

A preferred product list was developed to facilitate the selection and purchase process for ergonomic equipment.

The Ergonomic Equipment Matching Fund Reimbursement program provides campus departments with a cost-effective way to improve employees’ computer workstations and help prevent ergonomic related injuries.  Funds are available to subsidize 50% of ergonomics equipment cost, not to exceed $500 per qualifying employee.  Visit our website for details.

Items on the preferred product list are available for demonstration (by appointment only) at the Ergonomics Lab located a Mission Bay, Byers Hall/QB3 BH-116.

An updated OEH&S Ergonomics Website is available.

Our goal is to provide employees with the tools, resources, and services required to create a safe and ergonomically appropriate work environment.  If you have any questions about the UCSF ergonomics program or concerns specific to your department, please contact:
