Effective Dates of New Tax Provisions

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009 includes an increase to the maximum monthly election limit for pretax transportation benefits from $120.00 to $230.00 (same as parking). This increase is available for new enrollments and existing participants beginning March 1, 2009.

Please print and complete the enrollment action form found at the UCSF Pre-Tax Transit Incentive site if you wish to increase your monthly deduction amount and submit to Transportation Services (Fax:476-0499 or mail to Campus Box 0299).

If your current participation is above $120, your prior post tax dollars will automatically convert to the new pretax maximum up to $230.

All changes to occur will be effective April 1, 2009 and will continue through December 31, 2010.

Please contact Transportation Services for any additional questions at 476-1511.
