Use or Lose Furlough Time by August 31

All employees covered by the system-wide Furlough Program enacted last July by the Regents must use furlough days by August 31, 2010. As outlined in the policy last year, furlough days are not vacation or comp time that may be banked for future use or is paid out upon separation from the university.

This means that employees who do not use furlough hours by August 31, 2010 will forfeit that time. For other employees covered by alternate programs, those programs should continue in accordance with Systemwide Labor Agreements and campus parameters until savings objectives for those employee groups are met.

If you have any additional questions about use of furlough time, please contact your assigned Labor and Employee Relations Analyst.
