New Appointees Now Receive 100% Moving Expense Reimbursement

Business and Finance Bulletin G-13 - the policy and regulations governing moving and relocation - has been revised effective December 1, 2008. The rule limiting the reimbursement of moving expenses to one-half of the actual expenses incurred by new appointees has been eliminated.

This rule applies to new appointees to Management, Senior Professionals, and Professional positions, as well as new employees appointed to Support Staff positions. Under the revised bulletin, these individuals are eligible to receive reimbursement of up to 100 percent of their actual reasonable moving costs, as defined in the policy.

Note: New employees appointed to Support Staff positions were previously not eligible to receive any moving expense reimbursements. Read the full policy.

Deadline to Complete the FAS CARE Survey Is December 5

The deadline to complete the CARE survey is Friday December 5, 2008. Please take a few moments to comment on Human Resources and other FAS services, such as accounting, procurement, administrative information systems, transportation, police, capital programs, and facilities management, to name a few. Your feedback is extremely important as it helps identify areas for improvement in each HR and FAS department and allows us to make changes to better meet your needs.

The survey should take about 15-20 minutes to complete. If you have any questions, have trouble accessing the survey, or wish to receive a survey invitation, please email for assistance.
