CUE Agrees to Temporary Change to Contract Provision Allowing Vacation Leave to be Advanced During Closure/Curtailment
In the December 4 edition of HR Update, the University announced that the Office of the President approved an exception to Policy 43, Leaves of Absence (Curtailment Leave) allowing employees with insufficient vacation balances to be advanced up to six days of vacation prior to actual accrual to be used during a curtailment period. This exception applies to non-represented staff as well as bargaining unit employees represented by the University Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE), the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The University has now received confirmation that the Coalition of University Employees (CUE) has agreed to apply this exception to employees in the Clerical (CX) bargaining unit.
Questions may be directed to your assigned Labor and Employee Relations Analyst.
