UC Medical Plan Employee Satisfaction Survey
A survey to measure member satisfaction with the 2008 UC-sponsored medical plans is underway. Approximately 12,000 randomly selected faculty, staff, retirees, and their family members who were 18 years or older on December 31, 2008 have begun to receive communications about survey participation. An independent research firm has been asked to conduct the survey on behalf of UC.
If you are contacted to participate, this is an important opportunity to provide feedback on your medical plan. Results from the survey will be available in the fall of 2009 and are an important tool for employees and retirees making decisions about medical plans during Open Enrollment. Information from the 2007 survey can be viewed here.
The survey includes all non-Medicare coordinated medical plans with the exception of CIGNA. (Members of CIGNA Choice Fund receive a separate survey directly from CIGNA.) Selected participants will have until May 29, 2009 to complete the survey.
AFSCME Agrees to Participate in Modified START Program
The Staff and Academic Reduction in Time (START) Program was modified to lower the minimum allowable reduction in time from 10 percent to 5 percent. The applicability of the modification to represented employees was dependent upon agreement by the relevant union. The University has received confirmation from the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) that employees may participate in the modified program in accordance with departmental approval.
For a description of the process for implementing reductions under the START Program at UCSF, visit the UCSF HR website. Staff questions related to this policy may be directed to Mark Gottas at . Academic questions may be directed to Cynthia Leathers at .
