Nomination Applications Continue to be Accepted for the 2007 UCRS Advisory Board Election
REMINDER: Apply NOW if you wish to be considered for candidacy in the 2007 UCRS Advisory Board Election for the selection of two Board members.
May 4 is the deadline for submitting nomination applications.
As announced in late March, nomination applications are invited through May 4, 2007 for an election to be conducted May 29 to June 22, 2007 to select two employees who are not members of the Academic Senate to the University of California Retirement System (UCRS) Advisory Board.
Only eligible active members of the University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP) who are not members of the Academic Senate will be qualified as candidates.
A special election website containing all downloadable nomination materials, as well as prospective candidate information and instructions,
is now available on the At Your Service website.
The University encourages eligible UCRP members who are not members of the Academic Senate to visit the site, read the information there about the role of the UCRS Advisory Board, and submit nomination applications if interested.
In mid-May, a list of qualified candidates and their statements will be post- ed at the website. Online voting will be conducted May 29 to June 22, 2007 on At Your Service Online, and there will be a link to that site on the election website. Only eligible active UCRP members who are not members of the Academic Senate will be qualified to vote in the election.
Final election results will be posted at the website shortly after the voting period.

Family Member Verification Audit Set To Begin In May
In May, UC HR/Benefits will conduct its annual random audit of family members enrolled in UC-sponsored health and welfare plans. A general announcement of the upcoming audit has recently been sent out to all employees and retirees with enrolled family members. This letter has been issued to approximately 55,000 employees and 17,000 retirees throughout the UC system.
Those who will be asked to participate in the audit will receive an additional letter in May along with instructions on how to comply with the audit. An article about the audit was included in the most recent issue of Human Resources and Benefits Briefing.
The consequence for an employee or retiree enrolling an ineligible individual is the permanent de-enrollment (cancellation of coverage) of the ineligible individual. In addition, the employee and all family members will be de-enrolled for 12 months for misuse of plan(s). Failing to respond to the University’s eligibility verification or failing to provide the required documentation when requested will also result in de-enrollment of the ineligible individual.
If employees wish to review family member eligibility rules they may do so by referring to the UC Group Insurance Eligibility Factsheet.
