Earthquake Preparedness Talks
The 2012 cycle of home earthquake preparedness talks, sponsored by the UCSF Office of Environmental Health, has been scheduled and will run through the first half of the year. These 50-minute talks are presented by Dr. Matthew Springer, Associate Professor of Medicine, and are based on his personal experiences with the 1971, 1989, and 1994 destructive quakes in California.
This year’s presentation features newly updated information and photos of preparations, and organizes the precautions into categories ranging from those that are simple but essential to those that are much more involved. It is sponsored by the UCSF Office of Environmental Health & Safety.
An RSVP is not necessary. Click here to view the most current schedule.
Family Member Eligibility Review
In the January publication of Our University Newsletter, the University announced that all faculty and staff who have family members enrolled in a UC medical, dental and/or vision plan will be asked to submit documents to verify their family members’ eligibility. If you have enrolled family member(s), watch for a letter in March from Secova, the vendor UC selected to facilitate the verification process, outlining instructions on how to show evidence of eligibility. This is an important step to ensure UC’s fiduciary responsibility to its employees. To read more click here.
