Update on OE AP/HR Recruitment

The office of the AVC HR is establishing a Business Operations and Decision Support (BODS) unit that will serve the newly formed OE AP/HR organization of Clusters and Specialty Centers in the areas of Financial Management, Personnel Administration, Decision Support, Procurement, Facilities Management, and Special Projects. 

Two of the new BODS positions are now posted on the UCSF Campus Internal Candidate Gateway at http://ucsfhr.ucsf.edu/careers/:

Only career employees at UCSF will be considered for these opportunities at this time.  Qualified individuals should apply at their earliest convenience but no later than July 28, 2011 at which time the requisitions will be closed.  The interview and selection process will occur immediately thereafter.

Communications Skills Class

When: Friday, August 19, 8 am to noon
Location:  Laurel Heights Regents Room S-1
Cost:  $150

This workshop teaches participants how to improve the critical communication skills of listening, asking questions and being aware of nonverbal messages. It also helps participants who are struggling to find that middle ground between being too aggressive and too passive, and how to counter the challenging communication tactics of difficult people. Participants learn more about the elements of our communication with others that help us reveal appropriate information about ourselves, and how to get a handle on effectively managing our professional image through effective communication.

Project Management Basics Class

When: Friday, August 19, 1 to 5 pm
Location:  Laurel Heights Regents Room S-1
Cost:  $150

This workshop presents project management from a “big-picture” perspective. It stresses the essential goals of project management and introduces practical tools and techniques every professional can use when in the role of project manager or team member. The course uses hands-on exercises focused on a project case study designed to bring the theories and practices to life. A series of interactive exercises, utilizing templates, provides an understanding of how the training relates to real-life project work.  Students are provided with a comprehensive set of project management job aids for use back on the job.

Coaching for Improved Performance

When: Wednesday, July 20th, 8 to 12 pm

In this 2nd course in the Performance Management series, you will learn to recognize and assess performance issues, and you will practice coaching communication skills to support employee performance improvement and development.
