Proposed Changes to the UC Retirement Plan
This morning the Chancellor passed on a message from UCOP announcing that President Yudof has published some of the recommendations that are expected to come out of the Post Employment Benefits (PEB) Task Force regarding the future of UC retirement benefits. There will be significant communication coming from the Office of The President regarding the recommended changes so please stay tuned to The Future of the UC Retirement Plan and At Your Service (AYS) and ensure faculty and staff you support have access to this information.
Also please save the date for a ‘Virtual’ Town Hall on Post Employment Benefits: September 29, 2 p.m. This will be a live webcast addressing the final recommendations, and employees will have the option to submit questions in real time and get answers.
HR Career Development Workshops
HR has committed to “develop our resumes and improve our networking and interviewing skills through workshops for just HR Staff.” To that end, all HR Staff members are encouraged to attend Career Development Workshops being offered exclusively for Campus HR professionals.
For the greatest benefit, attend all four workshops:
Module 1: Managing Change / Self Assessment, September 21, 2 – 4 p.m. & October 13, 1 – 3 p.m.
Module 2: Development Planning / Resume Writing, September 28, 2 – 4 p.m. & October 20, 1 – 3 p.m.
Module 3: Networking / Interviewing: October 5, 2 – 4 p.m. & October 27, 1 – 3 p.m.
Module 4: Resume Critique / Interview Practice*: October 12, 2 – 4 p.m. & November 3, 1 – 3 p.m.
All workshops will be held in the Regents Room at Laurel Heights.
To enroll, search for “Career Planning” in the UC Learning System.
*Modules 1, 2 and 3 are pre-requisites for Module 4.
