Comments on Proposed STAR Plan Due Feb. 6As announced in January, the University is proposing to implement the Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Plan, which will be governed by a revised policy on Incentive and Recognition Award Plans. Employees who wish to provide comments on the revised policy and/or the proposed STAR Plan may submit them to Michael Lum () by Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. The proposed STAR plan would provide for one-time recognition awards for UCOP employees. Recognition awards under the STAR plan would be given after the fact and used to recognize superior individual or team performance. Proposed revisions to Staff Policy 34, a fact sheet and Q&A, and details of the proposed STAR plan are posted for review.
Applications open for next staff advisor to UC RegentsThe application period for the next staff advisor-designate to the UC Board of Regents opened on Jan. 17 and runs through March 2, 2012. Applications are being accepted for one position to serve the two-year term from July 2012 through June 2014. The staff advisor program, now in its sixth year, allows for two staff and/or non-Senate academic employees to participate in open sessions of designated committees of the board. The staff advisors bring the voice and perspective of staff and non-Senate academic employees to board deliberations.
