Important Information Regarding 2008 Behavioral Health Benefits

Beginning January 1, 2008 all Behavioral Health benefits for UC employees and their dependents will be provided by United Behavioral Health. For those individuals who were enrolled in a plan with a different Behavioral Health provider in 2007 (Health Net, PacifiCare, WHA) and you are currently receiving services, there are special transition benefits for you and covered family members. Additionally, Blue Cross Plus and Definity plan members who were receiving out-of-network behavioral health benefits are also eligible for transition benefits as the out-of-network benefits are being eliminated in 2008 except for members in the Blue Cross PPO plan.

Many behavioral health providers used by Health Net, PacifiCare and WHA are also UBH providers. If your provider is in both networks, you can continue to see your current provider and access care in-network. To determine if your provider is covered under UBH you can either call UBH directly or by searching the website https://www.liveandworkwell.com/public/ . Sign in using the access code 11280.

For those individuals who are currently seeing a provider who is not affiliated with UBH, transition of care is designed to allow a member to complete treatment with their current provider within a 6 month period of time or provide up to 6 months in which time to transition to a provider who is contracted with UBH. Contact UBH at 1-888-440-8225 for certification for transition of care.

More information on transition of care, including information regarding medical plan transition of care, can be found on the web. Follow the specific link that applies to your situation.
