DMV Pull Notice System

Pursuant to the California Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of l983, University employees who drive certain types of vehicles (e.g. shuttles, vanpools, delivery vehicles, any departmentally owned vehicle) are subject to the California DMV Pull Notice System.  For employees that fall under this policy, the University receives reports of current and prospective employee’s public driving records from the DMV in order to assess whether any issues or violations represent unacceptable risk that may necessitate immediate cessation of driving privileges.  All UCSF staff that drive University vehicles must have a valid and current California driver’s license that is in good standing.  This communication serves as a reminder that departments are responsible for identifying positions and employees that fall under this policy and are required to immediately notify Parking and Transportation Services so that the DMV process can be imitated.

The DMV Pull Notice System policy can be viewed at http://policies.ucsf.edu/150/15022.HTM.  For questions regarding this policy, please contact Parking and Transportation Services at 476-1511.
